2018 is coming – Are you ready for it?

In the last episode of the year I discuss some universal online marketing and e-commerce predictions not only applicable for 2018, but years to come.

Hi everyone and welcome.

Alright so there is only a few days left of 2018, so I thought like everyone else that I should do a predictions episode. The macro-trend not only valid for 2018, but at least 10 years to come is that digitalization is happening in everything in society. Especially in marketing, communication and commerce.

I think that in 2018 we will see that this continues to grow. There will be a few backlashes, since the whole of society is really prepared for it. I believe that companies that are prepared to leverage digital channels to meet their customer needs and wants will be the winners in 2018 and for decaded to come, really.

We will see a lot of companies doing really great stuff, leveraging social media, their own webpages and third party marketplaces to sell online. They will really figure out how to use digital channels to improve their business.

Furthermore companies that know how to execute in digital channels will be the winners. I think that most organisations are talking about AI, AR, VR, e-Commerce, social media, Amazon etc etc. Companies that are able to turn all these buzzwords and trends in to actual improvements for the customer experience, not for only 2018, but for years to come. The rest of companies will continue to talk about it, my tip is to not be one of those companies.

Instead try to get dirty and get things done that your customers really want in the digital space. So it’s really about leveraging the change that is happening, and executing on it.  I think it will be gold for the next couple of years to come.
