Hi everyone and welcome. Alright, so what should we talk about today?
Let’s talk about the importance of training your employees in online and digital marketing. I read an article in a paper, I think it was Adweek but not sure… The article indicated that a lot of companies were afraid of training their employees in, especially within digital marketing, social media, SEO and that kind of stuff. Because the companies though that their employees would leave.
It has been going on for a while that companies are afraid of that competitors would snatch up their employees once they are trained. I think this is kind of an interesting topic, because what is the damage when you do not train your employees? The occasional employee that your competitor would be able to recruit or transfer, that is just very small if you look at a macrolevel.
Another reflection when it comes to online marketing training is that I think a lot of companies would benefit from growing their employees on the latest online marketing trends. Employees need to be very good at online marketing, to be good at buying online marketing services.
So they are not really replacing consultants and agencies, but instead they are becoming better buyers of these types of services.
Your current employees know your product and service better, so when they apply their learnings their it will be more relevant to your business. Not to mention the fact that everyone wants to grow and learn new things, at least that’s the employees you should be having. Then training and growing them should be a piece of cake.
